If the sound or video in your demo interview is lagging or out of sync, your computer or internet performance is probably the cause. In order to improve the performance of your computer, here are some suggestions:
- Close (don’t just minimize) all other programs that are open to free computing capacities. The fewer the number of programs that is open simultaneously, the better.
- Select the ‘compatibility mode’ in the camera selection during the equipment check. When choosing the compatibility mode, the size of the video will be slightly reduced, but quality will be increased. This produced picture is sufficient enough for the interview.
- Make sure you have the latest version of your external webcam driver.
- Make sure your internet connection isn’t being used by any other devices or applications while taking the interview. This includes video streaming, file sharing, and games. Other people using your home or office network for these tasks may also have a detrimental effect on your video interview.
